If Dr. Mendenhall asked you to stretch
the gluteal muscles, unless his instructions were different
from the following, you can:
Two to four (2 - 4) times a day,
apply the following two (2) minute treatment:
1)
stretch the gluteal muscles on the first side
for about thirty (30) seconds,
2)
stretch the gluteal muscles on the second side
for about thirty (30) seconds,
3)
stretch the gluteal muscles on the first side
for about thirty (30) seconds,
4)
stretch the gluteal muscles on the second side
for about thirty (30) seconds.
If
Dr. Mendenhall asked you to massage the gluteal
muscles, unless his instructions were different from the following,
you can:
Two to four (2 - 4) times a day, apply
the following two (2) minute treatment:
1)
massage the gluteal muscles on the first side
for thirty to sixty (30 - 60) seconds,
2)
massage the gluteal muscles on the second side
for thirty to sixty (30 - 60) seconds
If Dr. Mendenhall asked you to strengthen
the gluteal muscles, unless his instructions were different
from the following, you can:
Two to four (2 - 4) times a day, apply
the following two (2) minute treatment while
lying face down.
1)
do the "flag waving" exercise,
ten repetitions on each leg,
2) do the "knee lift" exercise,
ten repetitions on each leg,
3) while lying on each side, with the lower knee bent for stability:
4)
do the "side-lying leg lift"
exercise, ten repetitions on each leg.
